Simple split
Platform holds it. GUIDE opens it.
Commonscience is the home for your projects — find them, share them, come back to them. GUIDE is where you actually work: notes, molecules, runs, and provenance in one notebook.
Right now, anyone can browse public lineages without signing in. A signed-in home (your own shelf and recent work) is what we’re building next.

The unit of work
A lineage is a research project
Something you can link to, share, and open in GUIDE. History is kept as checkpoints — not as a pretend git repo. A few public examples are up now.
From a lineage page
Open it, download GUIDE, or copy the link
That’s the plan for every lineage: work in the browser, work on your machine, or send someone the URL. We’re wiring those actions as the platform comes online.
